Review

The Lakestar bait boat was initially launched back in 2004 but it is still one of the leading bait boats among fishing enthusiasts. This bait boat boasts of a huge bait capacity – 5kgs split into 2.5kgs into each hopper. The straight sided hopper is also ideal for different types of bait and comes with specially fitted doors that make sure no bait goes astray.

Users of the Lakestar bait boat do not have to worry about the propellers getting tangled in weeds as the propellers are specially equipped with stainless steel weed guards. In terms of battery life, this bait boat can last for 1 – 2 hours depending on what speed setting you choose to use it in. The batteries are also very quick and easy to change and come in a watertight compartment.

The Lakestar bait boat is an easy favorite among fishing enthusiasts because of its easy navigation. Plus, the light indicators are like icing on the cake – users can always keep an eye on the battery status, and when the hoppers are opened, the LED lights flash and stop doing so once the hoppers are closed properly.

Improvements to the Lakestar bait boat include new handsets and sonar. The new handset allows the handset to communicate with the bait boat, and the bait boat to communicate with the handset. This also eliminates the frequencies emmited by other radio transmitters of other bait boats. The sonar handset reaches depths of 40ft, and the non-sonar handset batteries last for over 290 hours.

Verdict

Pro’s: The Lakestar bait boat is a definite buy. It is very easy to use, gives you the most bait capacity which means fewer trips, and is also very easy to control and maneuver. The boat’s performance is also not affected by whether you fill both or either hopper with bait. Delivery system allows greater control as you can send it out gradually instead of all at once.

Cons: Very expensive compared to other models on the market.
